Australian graphic designer volunteers in Samoa
May/June 2009

Graphic designer Danny Connery has completed a six-month posting in Samoa, training staff of local newspaper art departments in layout and design principles.
Danny’s placement was an initiative of the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development, in partnership with the Asia Pacific Journalism Centre.
The goal is to provide opportunities for media professionals in developed countries to pass on skills to colleagues in less developed parts of the Asia Pacific region.
Danny has a background in graphic design, newspaper layout and web design, along with management and training skills.
He was based in the Samoan capital of Apia, where the main newspapers are published.
The placement is being managed by Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development. - www.ayad.com.au/aspx/home.aspx
